By integrating the support and connections we build in class with meaningful contributions to local initiatives, we embody the true spirit of yoga—creating balance and harmony both within ourselves and in the world around us. Proceeds from this class will support:

  • Financial assistance for counseling services
  • Crisis intervention and advocacy
  • Education to reduce stigma around mental health

How to Join:

Why It Matters

Mental health challenges affect individuals, families, and entire communities, yet stigma and financial barriers often prevent people from seeking the help they need. The Community Counseling Center Foundation bridges this gap by providing critical support services, including:

  • Counseling scholarships for individuals and families unable to afford care.
  • Crisis intervention programs that offer immediate assistance to those in need.
  • Outreach and education to reduce stigma and promote mental wellness.

By participating in Breathe+Balance, you’re directly contributing to these life-changing initiatives, empowering others to find hope, healing, and balance.

What to Expect

The class will take place on Saturday, January 18 from 8 to 9 am inside the studio at Amity Yoga.

Upon entering, you’ll stop to check-in where monetary donations will be accepted via cash, check, or Venmo.

Beginning at 8 am, we’ll do yoga!! The flow will be gentle and accessible for all levels. If you’ve never done yoga for – this is a great place to try it out! And if you’re a seasoned yogi – you’ll be offered modifications to spice things up!

If you have your own mat, feel free to bring it, but we also have mats available in the studio.

And don’t forget a water bottle!

Yes, registration is required. Class is free to attend, but donations for Community Counseling Center will be collected at the event. You can sign up online through the Amity Yoga app or on our website at www.amity-yoga.com/community-connection/

Monetary donations only. Donations will be collected at the time of the event during check-in. You can donate via cash, check, or Venmo.

Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one. Mats are available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. If you don’t have a mat, bring a blanket or large towel just in case. Also, don’t forget to bring a water bottle.

Wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for the weather. A good idea is to dress in layers. Do you need to have fancy yoga pants? No way! Come in what is comfy, yet appropriate.

Yes, the flow will be gentle and accessible for all levels. If you’ve never done yoga before, this will be an easy-t0-follow introduction. If you’re a seasoned yogi, you’ll find plenty of alternative cues to take the practice deeper.

That’s ok!! This class will be at a comfortable pace for you to follow along and get a good introduction to what a yoga class can look like. If you’re interested in exploring more options and styles of yoga, check out our weekly schedule HERE.

The class starts at 8 am, so please arrive a little early (10-15 min) to get settled and get your mat set up!

The class is free to attend, but monetary donations are encouraged to support Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Absolutely! We encourage you to bring friends and family to join in and support a great cause.

You bet!! We’re supporting the community, and they’re a HUGE part of that!!
